What WP-SM1 is

Semaglutide is a 31-amino-acid analog of human GLP-1(7-37) with an Aib substitution at position 8 (DPP-4 resistance), a lysine-to-arginine substitution at position 34, and a C18 fatty-diacid attached through a hydrophilic spacer at lysine 26 to drive high-affinity albumin binding.

Mechanism described in the literature

Semaglutide is a selective GLP-1 receptor agonist. GLP-1R is a class B G-protein-coupled receptor whose activation raises intracellular cAMP; downstream effects studied in the literature include glucose-dependent insulin secretion in islets, gastric-emptying regulation and central appetite circuits in the hypothalamus and hindbrain.

Handling and storage

Store sealed vials at -20 °C, protected from light and moisture. 2–8 °C is acceptable for short periods such as transit and receiving. Allow a cold vial to reach room temperature before opening to avoid condensation on the lyophilized cake.

Vials ship sealed, cushioned and with a desiccant pack in plain packaging. Each vial is labeled with the product code, net content and the research-use designation. A packing slip lists the product codes and quantities ordered.
