What WP-IPA is

Ipamorelin (NNC 26-0161) is a synthetic pentapeptide (Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2) in the growth-hormone-releasing-peptide (GHRP) family. It contains two D-amino acids and an N-terminal α-aminoisobutyric acid residue.

Mechanism described in the literature

Ipamorelin is an agonist of the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) on pituitary somatotrophs. In the 1998 characterization it was described as the first GHRP with selectivity for growth-hormone release over ACTH and cortisol release, which distinguishes it from GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 in secretagogue research.

Handling and storage

Store sealed vials at -20 °C, protected from light and moisture. 2–8 °C is acceptable for short periods such as transit and receiving. Allow a cold vial to reach room temperature before opening to avoid condensation on the lyophilized cake.

Vials ship sealed, cushioned and with a desiccant pack in plain packaging. Each vial is labeled with the product code, net content and the research-use designation. A packing slip lists the product codes and quantities ordered.
