What WP-SLK is

Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide, Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro, consisting of the immunomodulatory tetrapeptide tuftsin extended with Pro-Gly-Pro for enzymatic stability. It was developed alongside Semax by the Institute of Molecular Genetics, Moscow.

Mechanism described in the literature

Selank is studied for effects on GABAergic neurotransmission — including altered expression of GABA-A receptor subunit genes — and for modulation of enkephalin degradation and cytokine (IL-6) expression in the research literature. Its tuftsin origin places it at the intersection of neuropeptide and immunopeptide research.

Handling and storage

Store sealed vials at -20 °C, protected from light and moisture. 2–8 °C is acceptable for short periods such as transit and receiving. Allow a cold vial to reach room temperature before opening to avoid condensation on the lyophilized cake.

Vials ship sealed, cushioned and with a desiccant pack in plain packaging. Each vial is labeled with the product code, net content and the research-use designation. A packing slip lists the product codes and quantities ordered.
