What WP-EPI is

Epitalon (Epithalon, AEDG) is a synthetic tetrapeptide, Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, developed by the St Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology as a synthetic analog of the pineal extract epithalamin.

Mechanism described in the literature

In cultured human somatic cells epitalon was reported to induce telomerase activity and telomere elongation. Other studies from the same research program describe interactions of short peptides with DNA and effects on pineal melatonin production and on markers of aging in rodents. Independent replication of these findings is limited, which is itself a reason the peptide remains a research subject.

Handling and storage

Store sealed vials at -20 °C, protected from light and moisture. 2–8 °C is acceptable for short periods such as transit and receiving. Allow a cold vial to reach room temperature before opening to avoid condensation on the lyophilized cake.

Vials ship sealed, cushioned and with a desiccant pack in plain packaging. Each vial is labeled with the product code, net content and the research-use designation. A packing slip lists the product codes and quantities ordered.
