What WP-CGR is

Cagrilintide (NN9838, formerly AM833) is a long-acting, acylated analog of human amylin, a 37-amino-acid pancreatic hormone co-secreted with insulin. Sequence substitutions suppress the fibrillation that limits native amylin, and a C20 fatty-diacid provides albumin binding.

Mechanism described in the literature

Cagrilintide is described as a dual amylin and calcitonin receptor agonist (DACRA). Amylin receptors are heterodimers of the calcitonin receptor with receptor activity-modifying proteins (RAMP1–3); cagrilintide retains activity at these complexes and at the calcitonin receptor itself. The area postrema and other hindbrain nuclei are the focus of its central-signaling literature.

Handling and storage

Store sealed vials at -20 °C, protected from light and moisture. 2–8 °C is acceptable for short periods such as transit and receiving. Allow a cold vial to reach room temperature before opening to avoid condensation on the lyophilized cake.

Vials ship sealed, cushioned and with a desiccant pack in plain packaging. Each vial is labeled with the product code, net content and the research-use designation. A packing slip lists the product codes and quantities ordered.
